About Us
Club History
Horsham Bowling Club has a rich history: Established in 1906 and originally located in the Bishopric area of central Horsham, the club has been a fixture in the town for over a century, with its founding members having great foresight in purchasing the freehold at The Bishopric in 1926.
In 2014, as part of the town development, the club relocated to Holbrook on the northern edge of the town where the club now boasts excellent facilities including a six rink bowling green, a modern clubhouse and a private car park.
Horsham Bowling Club caters to players of all standards, from beginners to seasoned professionals. The club is always eager to welcome prospective new members and encourages anyone interested in taking up the game of bowls to get in touch.
In addition to friendly matches, Horsham Bowling Club’s busy schedule includes Fun Days for the whole family and coaching sessions led by qualified coaches. The club also holds internal competitions, allowing members to showcase their skills and compete against one another. Both men and ladies have the opportunity to participate individually in County Competitions and represent the club in County Club Competitions.
The club’s facilities are not limited to its own matches, as Horsham Bowling Club also hosts a number of County and National matches and we welcome visiting touring clubs. This adds to the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere within the club and provides opportunities for bowlers to engage with players from other clubs and regions.
At Horsham Bowling Club we take pride in our club’s rich history, our commitment to the sport of lawn bowls, and in the sense of community that has been fostered over the years. As a member of our club, you can enjoy not only the thrill of the game but also the camaraderie and friendships formed both on and off the green.
Our club facilities
In addition to our high quality carefully maintained outdoor green, we have a large clubhouse with space for three short mat rinks plus a social area. We have a large kitchen for catering matches and social events, a well-stocked bar offering draft and bottled beers, wine spirits and soft drinks at club prices, as well as the usual changing and washroom facilities.
Our affiliations & Inter-Club Competitions

We are affiliated to Bowls England and Sussex County Bowls.
Our club participates in a variety of friendly matches against other clubs. These matches include key fixtures such as the Friendship Cup against Worthing Pavilion, the Centenary Bowl against Marine Gardens Worthing and the club also competes for the Town Challenge Trophy against Horsham Park Bowls Club.

We are affiliated to the West Sussex County Short Mat Bowls Association.
The short mat season runs from October to early April with three mats in the clubhouse. There is also the facility to play social roll ups on a restricted basis throughout the summer months on two mats.
